Set within the historic Battery Maritime Building in Lower Manhattan, Cipriani South Street combines restored Beaux-Arts architecture with a large-scale event space overlooking New York Harbor. The landmark building retains original architectural details while giving weddings a setting that feels distinctly connected to downtown New York.

Celebrating a Wedding at Cipriani South Street

At the center of Cipriani South Street is the Great Hall, a large event space within the restored Battery Maritime Building. Its patterned glass ceiling, exposed historic ironwork, tall windows, and architectural scale give weddings a strong visual foundation before floral design, lighting, or production are introduced.

The venue also includes a private arrival foyer, separate pre-function rooms, and an outdoor loggia. That allows a celebration to move through arrival, ceremony, cocktails, dinner, and dancing without every part of the day needing to happen in the same room.

From a photography perspective, I like the contrast between the building's historic structure and the way the Great Hall can be completely transformed for an event. During portraits, the architecture can carry much of the image on its own; once guests arrive, florals, lighting, tablescapes, and production can create a completely different atmosphere.

Because Casa Cipriani and Cipriani South Street share the Battery Maritime Building, couples may also be able to incorporate different areas of the property into the wedding day. If portraits or a first look are planned before the ceremony, building that time into the schedule allows us to use the quieter architectural spaces without disrupting the celebration once guests arrive.
