Intimate Wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns

D & A's wedding at Blue Hill at Stone Barns unfolded entirely within the landscape of the Hudson Valley. The gallery begins with the day's smaller details and a few quiet moments of preparation before moving into their first look and portraits across the property.

The outdoor ceremony brought the surrounding fields, stone architecture, and greenery into the photographs in a very different way. Planned by Guerdy Design with production by David Beahm, the celebration used the setting thoughtfully rather than trying to compete with it, while the bride's Monique Lhuillier gown moved beautifully between the more intimate portraits and wider landscape photographs.

As daylight faded, the celebration shifted into a warmer, more atmospheric reception. The photographs move from the openness of the property into candlelight, florals, dinner, and dancing, letting the gallery's visual character shift naturally with the day.

Photographing D & A in these different environments let me move between quiet portraits, wider compositions shaped by the landscape, and the interactions that developed once everyone came together for the evening. The result is a story that feels closely tied to Blue Hill, but always centered on the people experiencing it.
