Valley Rock Inn & Mountain Club is designed for celebrations that extend beyond the wedding day. Located in Sloatsburg, about an hour from Manhattan, the property combines gardens, multiple ceremony and reception settings, guest houses, dining, wellness facilities, and outdoor activities within one Hudson Valley destination.

Planning a Wedding Weekend at Valley Rock Inn

Valley Rock Inn is located in Sloatsburg, at the foothills of the Ramapo Mountains and roughly an hour from most of Manhattan. The property is surrounded by Harriman State Park and Sterling Forest, giving couples a Hudson Valley setting without requiring guests to travel several hours from New York City.

Wedding weekends are a particular focus here. Five guest houses provide 21 bedrooms for overnight stays, while the property also includes restaurants, gardens, a pool, fitness and wellness facilities, and opportunities for guided hikes, cycling, and kayaking. That makes it possible to build a celebration around more than the ceremony and reception, from a rehearsal dinner to a farewell brunch or time together with guests between events.

Different areas of the property can support different parts of the wedding. The Shade Garden and South Lawn are among the ceremony options, while the Rose Garden can work for cocktails or smaller gatherings, and the Summer Garden can accommodate a reception tent. This lets the day move through the estate rather than stay within one primary event room.

That variety also shapes how I photograph here. Gardens, stone structures, wooded areas, guest houses, open lawns, and more contemporary spaces provide different environments without requiring the couple to leave the property. I prefer choosing locations based on the light and the timeline rather than trying to use every possible backdrop.
