Iconic Celebration at The Plaza Hotel New York

LoveShackFancy founder Rebecca Hessel Cohen transformed The Plaza Hotel into a dreamlike world of pink tulle, cascading florals, feathers, bows, and candlelight for an extraordinary private celebration in New York City. From the ballroom's grandeur to the smallest decorative details, every element reflected a distinct sense of fashion, fantasy, and joyful maximalism.

Photographing the celebration meant moving between its grandest moments and the energy unfolding within them. Elaborate tablescapes, live entertainment, theatrical installations, fashion, and spontaneous moments between guests all became part of the visual story, set against the historic architecture of The Plaza.

For me, events of this scale are about more than documenting the design. They are about understanding how the room changes throughout the evening, anticipating what is about to happen, and creating photographs that preserve both the extraordinary production and the people experiencing it.
