A Fashion-Forward Wedding Weekend at Pérez Art Museum Miami

Samantha and Elias's wedding weekend in Miami brought fashion, contemporary architecture, and a very personal sense of style into every part of the celebration. Photographing more than the wedding day itself let me follow that visual story from their welcome party through the final hours at Pérez Art Museum Miami. The wedding was later featured in The New York Times.

The weekend began at The Vessel Miami, where Samantha and Elias welcomed their closest people in a setting completely different from what would follow at PAMM. Those photographs introduce the weekend through conversations, movement, and time with friends before the pace and visual direction shifted the following day.

Fashion became much more prominent on the wedding day. Samantha's rare vintage pieces had a distinct point of view, and during the portrait session I leaned deliberately into a more editorial approach. The black-and-white photographs, structured compositions, and portraits around the vintage car gave us room to create something fashion-led while still keeping the images connected to Samantha and Elias.

At Pérez Art Museum Miami, the architecture introduced another visual language. I used its concrete structures, open terraces, tropical vegetation, and strong geometric lines to add depth to the composition, while allowing the ceremony and exchanges between family and friends to be photographed more naturally.

Cerka Creative's direction and Bianca Binc's planning complemented the museum without competing with it. As the celebration moved into the reception, the photographs shifted again, from the restraint of the portraits and ceremony to richer color, dinner, speeches, movement, and a dance floor that grew more energetic as the night continued.

For me, the weekend reminded me why I am drawn to weddings where couples make decisions that genuinely reflect who they are. When fashion, place, design, and emotion come together naturally, the photographs do not need to follow a formula. They become specific to the people and the experience that created them.
